On perfection ... and the Savior

Over the years I have constructed an unrealistic, impossible, inhuman expectation of perfection from myself.

It skews my vision of who I am terribly. And it made me cry the other day.

My darling mother happened to call me a couple hours later, about other things. We fell to talking, and I started crying again, and I said,

"I hated myself, Mom. I hated my insecurities, and then I hated the fact that I was hating myself, and then I hated the fact that I hated the fact that I hated myself. And I couldn't help it. I just hated myself."

And then my mother said a very wise thing. Said she, "Noelle, don't hate yourself.
Don't hate yourself because you need the Savior in your life."
